What is the difference between cloud computing and traditional on-premises computing?

In my final year, I worked on a group project where we needed a collaborative platform for document sharing. We chose Google Drive, a cloud-based service, because it allowed all group members to access and edit documents in real-time from different locations. This experience highlighted how cloud computing facilitates collaboration, making it easy to share resources without the need for physical servers or installations. In contrast, if we had used traditional on-premises computing, we would have been limited to sharing files via USB drives or email, which could lead to version control issues and delays. This project taught me the value of cloud solutions in enhancing teamwork and efficiency.

During my time volunteering for a non-profit organization, we organized an event that required extensive planning and coordination. We utilized cloud tools like Trello and Google Sheets to manage tasks and track progress. This allowed our team to work from different locations, updating information in real-time, which was crucial for meeting deadlines.
