As a seasoned designer, how do you ensure your design evolves with changing user expectations over time?

During my final year project, I worked on redesigning a campus app that students used to access schedules and events. Initially, I conducted surveys to understand what features were most important to users. After launching the first version, I gathered feedback from my peers on what they found helpful and what frustrated them. This feedback led me to add a notification feature for important updates and an easy-to-navigate calendar. By iterating on my design based on user input, I ensured that the app met students' evolving needs, highlighting the importance of user-centered design.

As a volunteer for a local non-profit, I helped design a community newsletter. Initially, the newsletter was text-heavy and didn’t engage readers. I organized focus groups with community members to understand their preferences. Based on that feedback, I introduced more visuals, simplified the layout, and added sections for community highlights. These changes significantly increased engagement, showing me how essential it is to adapt designs to meet user expectations and preferences regularly. This experience taught me the value of collaboration and responsiveness to user feedback.
