How do you approach understanding user requirements in the product development process?

During my final year in college, I worked on a group project to develop a mobile application aimed at helping students manage their study schedules. To understand user requirements, we conducted surveys and focus groups with fellow students to identify their key pain points. We discovered that many students struggled with time management and procrastination. Based on this insight, we incorporated features like reminders and customizable schedules into our app. We also created a prototype and conducted user testing, which allowed us to gather feedback and refine our features before the final presentation. This experience taught me the importance of user involvement and iterative feedback in creating a product that truly meets user needs.

While working part-time at a local café, I noticed that customers often had difficulty finding information about our menu items and their ingredients. To address this, I initiated informal conversations with customers to understand their preferences and concerns. I suggested implementing a feedback board where customers could leave comments and suggestions.
