What techniques do you use to ensure that your designs are both user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing?

During my final year in college, I worked on a project that involved creating a mobile application to help students manage their study schedules. I utilized the user-centered design approach by conducting surveys and interviews with fellow students to gather their needs and preferences. Based on the feedback, I created wireframes that focused on intuitive navigation and clear visual hierarchy. I also emphasized color theory to ensure the app was visually appealing, using calming colors to enhance usability. After several iterations and user testing sessions, I was able to refine the design, resulting in an application that was not only functional but also engaging for users.
